Friday, December 1, 2017
It's Friday and it's the first day of December and now I shall break out in song..."It's the most wonderful time of the year!"  Please tell me you joined me in singing that.  I love everything about this time of year but man oh man, there is a lot on our plates, amen?

I took a little time off from this space this week to just collect my thoughts.  The beauty of blogging is I am my own boss, that's also my demise.  I am an all or nothing kind of gal so proving that I could take some time away to reset is proof of God's love and care.  Ok, now moving on before this turns into a therapy session for which you will bill me...on to the favorites of the week.

PS -- I still need to recap our Thanksgiving trip to Seattle and I will next week! Dad, come back next week (he comes for grandkid pictures)!

1.  Christmas Activities

I shared on Facebook live this week that we plan 25 smallish activities for our family to do everyday together.  Some are as simple as singing Christmas carols or reading a book by the light of the Christmas tree.  It's a fun way to enjoy the season together.  You can sign up for my email list (HERE) and I will send the printable to you!  Watch my Facebook live below for more information and inspiration!

Just sign up for my email list and I will send you a copy of this 25 activities printable :)

2.  Happy Playces Holiday Special Podcast

I had so much fun talking to Katy from Happy Playces about our holiday traditions, how I stay sane during the holidays and why I am saying "no" more this season.  I love listening to podcasts in the car, while I workout or am cooking dinner.  It's just 30 minutes so listen for a little encouragement!  You can download it in iTunes or from here.

3.  Playing Games

Lucy and I have been having some fun playing games together while the big kids are at school.  She asked to play Hullabaloo.  She is still working on shapes and colors but she just squeals with delight. I also taught her to play memory, I just took 8 matching sets instead of the whole set.  She beat me the first game ;).

I love playing games with my kids so I am so happy she is starting to want to play them.  I wrote a post about our favorite games in case you are on the hunt for some good recommendations this Christmas.  Find it here.

4.  Funnies

Since I am in the prime of Christmas shopping #seewhatIdidthere, I thought these were appropriate! Are these true for anyone else????

5.  Going to See Santa

I hope you have a great first weekend in December.  We are off to see the Jolly Guy himself.  If you are ever curious are thoughts on Santa, I shared a post all about that here.  It's 50/50 on whether our Youngest will be excited or not.  Last year was definitely NOT!

Until next time, keep on keeping on with a joyful, faith-filled life.  #tribekoko

  1. I love my packages arriving...I don't wrap them though because it feels like a waste! I just hand them over on each night of Hanukkah!

  4. Love your list of activities and love that you are so intentional with things like this. Hats off to you! And, the whole gift wrapping is like cooking. It takes 6 times as long to prepare a meal than it does to eat it. Go figure! Happy first weekend of Dec.!

  5. In the prime, lolololol! Oh man I have already started wrapping presents. The past couple of years I put that off for far too long. Not this year. I hope you had an awesome weekend.

  6. When the kids are tearing through the presents I so painstakingly wrapped, I die a little inside. They rip my hard work to pieces so fast.

  7. We're going to see Santa this weekend. Last year we ended up with a family picture + Santa so we'll see how this year goes.
