Friday Favorites | 12.8.2017

Friday, December 8, 2017
It's Friday :) Wahoo!!!  It's been a busy week of shopping, wrapping and curling up by the fire watching all the sappy Christmas movies.  Just me?  I am stopping in with a few favorites this Friday as we kick off another fun weekend.  I am headed off to a ladies night tonight  and then tomorrow we are going to a cookie exchange so we are baking some favorites to take (chocolate covered peanuts and Andes Mint Cookies).  What is your favorite cookie to bake this time of the year?  But, before I go sample, here are my favorites for the week!

1.  Stocking Stuffer Ideas

Yesterday I shared on FB live my 5 favorite things to stuff stockings with and how I organize them so I am all ready to go on Christmas Eve!  What do you stuff yours with???  I love mixing practical and fun.  I loved going through my stocking as a kid and I still get a stocking when I go to my mom's house.  She still finds the best stuff!  She shops at the Container Store and World Market a lot for hers along with the usual suspects - TJ Maxx and Target.

2.  Guest Post on Why I am Saying No this Christmas

I am so excited to be guest posting over on my friend Sarah's site, The Haute Homemaker.  I am sharing 5 ways that help me in saying no!  Make sure you head over and read it here.

3.  Netflix Christmas Movies

Netflix has totally upped their game this year in the sappy Christmas movie department.  I have already watched the Christmas Prince, Back to Christmas, 12 Dates of Christmas, The Spirit of Christmas and Merry Kissmas!  Since we don't have cable I am so thankful I can still watch a good, old-fashioned heartfelt movie.  You know I am watching all the traditional ones too.  Vera was named after White Christmas after all #funfact.

4.  The Crown

Speaking of Netflix, have you seen The Crown? If you love the royal family or Downton Abbey, you need to watch this series.  The new season comes out tomorrow and we are excited about it :).  Definitely a favorite!  Anyone else excited?

5. My Favorite Christmas Gift FB & IG Live Event

I am so excited to share my testimony and meditate on the reason for the season at a special event next Tuesday evening.  I know I don't always expressly share my faith on the blog but it's the cornerstone of my life and there's no better time to tell you my story.  I hope you will join me.  We will laugh, maybe I will cry #chancesaregood and there will be prizes :).

  2. Ok, White Christmas is one of my all time favorites...all genres, not just Christmas movies and I had no IDEA that's where her name came from!!! How fun! We are SO excited for The Crown!! We've been counting down the days for weeks now!! Although, we probably won't be able to binge watch it in one weekend like we did last year...nonetheless, still looking forward to it!

  3. I love stocking stuffers. We still get a stocking (which is a canvas bag with our name on it) every year at my parents'. We also use a sharpie and write one memory from the year on the bag. It's so fun to look back on each year! Hope you have a great weekend!

  6. Great stocking stuffer ideas! I like to stuff stockings with; bookmarks, candy, non-toxic beauty products, iTunes gifts cards. For kids; matchbox cars, Barbie clothes, my niece is obsessed with bath bombs and I found a Minnie Mouse one that smells like candy, and I found some small candy canes that have Disney characters on them.

  7. Thanks for sharing a list of all the holiday shows coming on TV! I've already set my DVR and can't wait to curl up with some popcorn to watch them with the kids. I've been hearing a lot of good things about The Crown and I think that I'll finally give it a watch since we'll be iced in over the weekend. Happy Holidays!

  12. Darn it, we totally missed Rudolph. That is one I have yet to buy too. I have been SLOWLY purchasing Christmas movies since the girls have been old enough to care about them. That is one of the last ones I need to pick up. I hope y'all have had a great weekend!
