Perfectly Port in Pictures: June...

Once a month I download ALL the pictures, sort and recap our month mostly in photographic evidence.  These are my kids favorite posts and since they are some of my biggest supporters, I want to keep them happy :).   These are the highlights.  It's summer so there's a lot of "he's in my tent.." and "she's in my room" or "so and so locked me out of the bathroom"...but 20 years from now this is what we will remember, the fun.  I want to make sure to document it but I want you to know, by no means, is this the full picture - amen?

We started out the month hosting one of about 50 Leilani's Lemonade Stands.  We had some generous patrons and all together across all the stands, I think about $7,500 was raised!  God took that idea and as only He can do, made it an incredible tribute to an amazing girl!  IT was a great way to kick off summer around here and JUNE!

Then on June 3rd and 4th, my grandparents, parents, Vera and I headed to Texas to celebrate my sweet cousin, Madelynne's high school graduation.  4 generations traveling together was a sweet memory I will ALWAYS cherish.  One of my first plane trips was with my grandparents when my mom was on bed rest and my great-grandfather couldn't go.   I flew on his ticket!  That would never fly ;) today!

While in TX, we had to see the world's 2nd largest working fire hydrant and have fun driving around with my cousins around their town while my other cousin, Bailey, played all the tunes.

We also stopped at Buc-cee's, what seemed like the world's largest gas station (but that's just my opinion), because when in Texas....

Just like that then we headed back home - all 4 generations heading 3 different places!

Meanwhile back at home, Solon played his best friend, Max, in baseball.  Solon had a great year and finished the season in June.  He officially has fallen in love with it and we even did a weekly clinic during June - he loved it.

We played at the park when the weather wasn't TOO hot and even made it to story time in the park, hosted by our awesome children's librarians.

We headed to the pool several times to beat the heat...

We spent plenty of time playing outside at home - whether a neighborhood baseball game, riding around on bikes and power wheels or cooling off in the water!

Slip N' Slide Fun

Her New Helmet :)

Fun with the Jeep

We visited Scott's Uncles' Farms and enjoyed finding some treasures in the attics and barns as well as a picnic and snack on the farm lawn as well as horse back riding and playing in the hotel pool.

Scott and I celebrated 11 years of marriage with a date night out!

Then celebrated Father's Day with a trip to a fun state park!

We creek stomped, hiked and picnicked as a family.  It's one of our favorite summer bucket list items every year and has become a father's day tradition!

We had a healthy 2 year check-up for Lucy!

Playdates with sweet friends...

We even got away for a night of "real" tent camping for the first time.  It was another highlight of our summer so far!  We roasted hot dogs, ate smores, chased bubbles, hung out by the fire and slept on the hard ground (we need an air mattress).  It was decided, we need to go one more time before summer is through!

The big kids went to see Cars 3 with their friends!

And we celebrated the 1st of 3 parties for our sweet two year old with Scott's parents.  We swam and had a delicious meal courtesy of Nana and Papa!

Then on her actual birthday, the weather was stormy SO we went to the pet store to see the fish, painted nails, watched "Mouse", had Lucy's favorite foods and opened presents!

We also attended TWO VBS weeks - Victory with our friends and Maker Fun Factory at our church!  We love VBS and we love Jesus.

My sweet friends and I took a celebratory pictures after 5 days with 1st/2nd graders :)  I love that age.  They were so fun!!!!

My kids especially loved the water balloon sling shot and large stacking cups at VBS

That brings us to the end of June.  Every month I think in the chaos, did we make any memories?  Then I do this and realize, why yes we did!  We can easily compare our lives to others and think we aren't measuring up but you know what, we are all unique and we are all just doing our best to keep on, keeping on!  I hope you had a great June, looking back we sure did!

What was the best part of your June?

May the start of your July go off with a bang ;) - Happy 4th of July!  See you next week!
