Perfectly Port Travels: Caribbean Cruise Attire...

I am wrapping up this Cruise Crazy Week with what I took along.  Cruising requires LOTS of clothes.  You have beach wear to cocktail dresses to consider.  7 nights of cruise dining and they don't allow "short pants, flip flops or tank tops" in the dining room which they reminded us of no less than 100 times #thereweresomeshortshortpants #notme.

We left freezing conditions and gray skies so I wore layers...airplanes can be hot or cold.

When we sailed away I was feeling quite nautical so navy stripes with red and gold for the win!

tote // chambray shirt // flip-flops

I checked out the excursion notes and knew we would be doing some hiking and needed to dress accordingly with closed-toe shoes.

Jacket // tank // similar shorts // similar shoes

Our cruise ship did have a little clothes line in our teeny tiny shower to hang up wet swimsuits but I packed plenty just to be sure.  I knew I wanted a one piece for things like the flow rider and water slides #nowardrobemalfunctionsplease.

Jantzen Swimsuit (TJ Maxx) // Sunglasses (TJ Maxx)

A couple excursions were to the beach so I knew I needed a few cover-ups for to and fro and even to grab lunch on the ship.  No swimsuits are allowed in the buffet and dining areas!

Similar Swimsuit // Similar flip flops // Knit drawstring dress (Gap last spring)

I packed a few casual outfits for after we washed up for the day but before seemed I wore several outfits everyday and rewire things multiple times.

top // shorts // bracelets // flip flops // backpack

Shirt  // Tank (Banana Republic last year) / shorts // flip flops

Our cruise had 2 formal nights (suits/tuxes for the gentlemen and cocktail dresses for women) and then 5 casual dining evenings.  No shorts, tank tops or flip flops were allowed in the dining room, fyi!

I wore this outfit for one formal night...

Clutch (Target Dollar Spot) // Leopard Heels (Target) // Necklace (gift) // Dress (TJ Maxx)

Scott's dress shirt (Banana Rublic Slim Tall dress shirt) // Dress (TJ Maxx) // Shoes (Target Clearance) // Clutch (Target Dollar Spot

And this for the other night...

Dress // Shoes (Target Clearance) // Clutch (Target Dollar Spot) // Bracelets

Then I packed some of my favorite dresses for the other evenings...

Dress (Banana Republic a few years ago) // Gold Glitter Wedges (Von Maur) // Cuff (Accessory Concierge)

Necklace (Francesca's) // Dress (TJ Maxx) // Bracelet (C Wonder) // Gold Wedges (Von Maur)

Similar Dress // Wedges (Von Maur) // Clutch (Target Dollar Spot)

My Favorite Dress // Flip Flops

What I packed:

7 dresses
athletic outfit
2 pairs of shorts
2 tank tops
Gold Glitter wedges
Leopard high heels
2 pairs of flip flops
Tennis shoes
Tote (served as my carry on)
A small backpack
4 swimsuits
2 cover-up dresses
2 traveling outfits (that included the jeans and my favorite dress with leggings)
Leopard scarf
Chambray shirt (I took to the beach several times for sun protection)
**The cruise provides towels for both on board and to check out for the beach
Sunscreen (we took 2 bottles and could have used 3)
Refillable water bottle
Waterproof phone holder
Wet bag (to place wet items in for the way home)
2 pairs of sunglasses

Everything fit inside a medium sized suitcase that we checked.  I wore nearly everything I brought and we kept one suitcase for all dirty clothes for on the trip home.  Check your cruise line itinerary to know what dress codes they have and how many formal evenings they will have.  Every cruise line and cruise itinerary are different!

It's fun to get dressed up and styled for vacation...
