Window Shopping with Perfectly Port: F & F Clothing @ Hy-Vee

It's time for another installment of Window Shopping with Perfectly Port.   I take you along on my latest shopping excursion to show you the ins and outs, provide tips and some opinions to help you out and who am I kidding, I love it too.

You requested and I listened, a new store opened {F & F Clothing} within Hy-Vee food Stores.  A clothing store within a grocery store? I love it already!

Although the concept at first glance seems odd, I grew up in Europe, where this was more the norm than the exception.  Given we are busy, how nice is it when we can run in for milk and a pair of leggings.  It's Genius.

Let me share a little practical information to get you acquainted with the brand.  F&F is a British-inspired international fashion label that offers a broad range of affordable styles for men, women and children.  It's one of the top three fashion brands in central Europe and No. 1 brand in Iceland.  The brand awareness of F&F is increasing each year around the world.  F&F’s clothing can be found in more than 1,800 locations around the world and Hy-Vee is now carrying the line in select stores.

You will find the sizing is British (they do have an American equivalent on the back of the neck tag).  I suggest just like at any store you take a moment and try things on, they have dressing rooms.  The good news is if you are in a rush, they have a 28 day return policy with receipt.  They have their own check-out that's staffed from 9 am - 9pm but you can also stow your items and pay for them with the rest of your groceries up front.  They have separate bags for F & F clothing and are trained to check for security tags!

If you are like me and have a cart full of groceries and pint-sized helpers, do not fear!  I simply pushed my cart next to the dressing room, an associate assisted me to the back over-sized dressing room and Lucy played in the mirror while I tried my clothes on!

I know you are all curious on what they have so let's dig in to what I found...

I started in the girls section and found the cutest little tight sets for the littlest Lady in our family.  As well as sets of leggings. The leggings were $10.99 for a set of 2 which compares well to competitors. They had several vignettes of clothing from bright and cheery to muted monotones.  There is a little something for every style!

The above dress popped in my cart and made the trip home with us.  Lucy is currently wearing 12-18 month clothes but the 9-12 month size fit her better.  This cute little dress was $19.99.  I am thinking Christmas card pictures, holiday events and more.  Paired with a little gold bow and shoes, she will be the belle of the ball!

 I kept thinking the entire time I was shopping,  I could walk out of here with a coordinated outfit for the entire family for a Christmas Card.  Headaches be gone, weary mommas.  One stop shop and while you are there you can get a bottle of wine to celebrate surviving said pictures!  They have baby 0 - 24 month, size 2-5 toddler and 6-15 for girls/boys.

They had walls full of socks, tights, underwear, shoes, belts, pajama sets, accessories including purses and backpacks.  I was swooning over the boys Herschel look-alike backpack and little camel tassel cross-body bag.  The purse was just $28.99, now I am wishing it had hopped in my cart too!

Winter's coming and they had darling cozy clothes.  We all need cozy clothes for winter.  I Picked up a pack of the no show socks I need for my booties.  3 pair of cotton socks for $5.99.  I loved the pink and white stripe jogger jammie pants {$26.99}and that darling shirt that repeats "wake up" {$14.99}.

Not to leave the men folk out, they had everything from pajama sets, to denim, to graphic tees, outerwear and sweaters.  Right now they are running a deal for $10 off a pair of jeans.  Men's jeans are only $29.99 originally.  Under $20 for a pair of men's jeans is a great deal.   Lots of styles and washes to choose from.

Before wrapping up the tour, I found the ladies and girls outerwear to be too cute for words and on trend with navy and army green with hints of floral, gold details and fur!  If Lucy didn't already have a hammy-down coat, I would have gotten her the army green winter jacket that (wait for it) came with a zip-out floral puffer vest.    The stand alone floral puffer vest {$29.99} was  darling and they often last forever, Vera can still rock a size 2T puffer vest.  The outerwear ranged in price from $24.99-$54.99 for kids.  The boys had awesome things as well with a nod to the outdoors, navy, grey and mustard colors and lots of plaid.

 Before I left I snatched a few things to try in the dressing room because I had to tell you how the clothes felt of course (it was all about you ;)!

Navy striped dress with lace detail {32.99}

Floral frilly sleeve tank {$29.99} and Eyelet frilly sleeve tank {On Sale $9}

Now I was with a helpful toddler and in workout leggings so forgive the complete look, just keeping it real ;).  I liked the look of the floral tank but I found it to be a little short for my extremely long torso.  I loved the feminine look and that style is all over the place right now.  It was a light material but wouldn't require a tank underneath.  I tried on a Euro size 6 and I would have sized up if I purchased to a size 8 (I normally wear small in tops).

I loved this navy raincoat with hood (because we have already established I love navy).  If you are going on a trip to Seattle (to see my sister) this coat would be perfect.  I tried on the size 8 and it fit great with generous room for a cozy sweater underneath.  {$79.99}

Now on to the items that made their way home with me along with the no show socks and little white dress for Lucy.

It was no surprise I picked the navy cotton jersey sheath dress with lace detail at the top.  I am glad I tried it on because unlike the tops that were more structured, I sized WAY down in this and got a size 2.  I cannot wait to sip a fruity cocktail on a carribean beach come January wearing this dress.  It was $32.99 which I thought was a fantastic deal for a dress I can dress up or down and get a lot of wear out of.

I have been seeing this type of structured top all over the place and for $9 (on sale) I couldn't wait to try it out.  I ended up with a size 10 because they didn't have a size 8.  Sizing up meant it was more generous around my hips and flowed well.  It is sheer so I will have to wear a camisole underneath.  I have already worn it with my skinny jeans, booties and accessories and got lots of compliments.   I washed but didn't dry it and and it holds up great!

As I was leaving I found this top to wear with leggings and chanced that a size 6 would fit!  It did and I love that it's long enough to wear with leggings alone or paired under my longer sweaters this winter.  It has a cute little side slit.  I loved the deep heathered blue color.  {$19.99}

Now here's the exciting part!

as part of the grand opening of several new F & F Clothing locations at Hy-Vee Food Stores, I am partnering with them today to give a lucky blog reader a $100 gift card.  You simply have to follow the directions below to enter.  I am so excited for someone to get to treat themselves and their families to some cute, affordable, fashionable clothes, hopefully they will share with us what they find!

If you don't win, have no fear,  they are running some great deals.  Right now at the new Ankeny location, if you spend $50, you get a $10 gift card with purchase (I got mine!).  They are also running a deal for $10 off all denim.

They are also hosting an Event TONIGHT at the North Ankeny and Des Moines Fleur Drive Hy-Vee locations from 6-8pm with stylists and gift cards, if you have time, stop by and tell them I sent you :)!

Hope you enjoyed window shopping with me, if you have any ideas of where I should head next, please leave a comment, I would love to hear from you!

**I Partnered with Hy-Vee to bring you the giveaway but all opinions expressed are my own.

  2. Oh dear! I fear my grocery shopping will take longer than an hour now! Super cute stuff. Loving the items you tried on and the ones you took home - that white top! I'm swooning. Thanks for the inside scoop on the store - I admit, I was a little confused about the addition, but I'm liking the idea of finding coordinated outfits for all in one place!
