What I'm Learning Wednesday: Stirring of the soul + gifts = Your mission

Stirring of the soul + gifts = Your mission
The place God calls you is the place where your deep gladness and the world's deep hunger meet.
-Frederick Buechner

Have you ever given what stirs your soul much thought? Have you ever been in a church service and been so moved by someone speaking but you can't explain it?

Stirring of the soul.

For each of us it's different and isn't that amazing? Each of us with unique qualities working in different ways, with different gifts for the kingdom of God. He needs all of us. He needs you!

Just like Courtney Joseph references on page 35 of the Ecclesiastes study, Olympic runner Eric Liddell had the gift of running, what is it that God has gifted you with and are you running with it? Or maybe, like me, you are running with it but not solely for the glory of God (Just being honest here).

God gifted me with words. Lots of them. From my mouth and y typing fingers and bouncing always in my head. Words. Words. Words. #surprise   But do I always use those words to bring Him glory? Or do I secretly covet some most of the glory?

How can God's gifts in me and my soul stirring collide to bring glory and honor to God?

You need to pray about what your gifts are.  If you aren't sure your Father in Heaven to reveal it to you. He will.  Then what stirs your soul? Pray about it.

From there how can your soul stirring and God's gift lead you to "shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life" (Philippians 2:15b-16a).  #bethelight

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Cor. 10:31

You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
Matthew 5:14-15 (NLT)

Dear Father,
Help me to love you with my whole heart. Reveal to me what you have gifted me with and help me to be sensitive to what stirs my soul. Help me to know how you worked them together to serve you, for your glory, and not my own. Its a struggle to not take the glory back, but its yours.
Amen
