Pumpkin Parable...

Write these commandments that I’ve given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night.
Deut. 6:6-8 (The Message)
I pray often that I can be intentional with sharing Jesus with our kids.  Whether its teaching them bible verses, reading a devotion with them at night, and sharing what they learned at Sunday School over the Sunday lunch table.

My mother-in-law gifted this book to my children several years ago and it retells the story of the farmer picking a pumpkin (you and me), cleaning out the yucky insides (our sin) and carving a beautiful face and then lighting it up (the holy spirit in us).  It's a great way for us to visually see how God removes our sin and places His light in us.

We like to use drill bits of various sizes to make polka dots...the kids even get in on pulling the trigger.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16 (NIV)
