It was a beautiful fall day on October 20th (that's when we trick or treat here, weird we know but tradition :). We have a fabulous neighborhood as I mentioned before so all the kids were out playing and we went and joined. Melanie, our super creative and fun neighbor, had the fixings for a scarecrow SO the boys worked on that as a team...
By then we were gaining more neighbors after school and nap...
So what do you know, we had an impromptu after school halloween party..because Melanie just happened to have some fun activity supplies on hand. Yep she is amazing!
First up, eat the doughnut off the hanging string (neither of those boys wearing glasses are Solon but yes they could be his brothers ;)
My mom was visiting because she loves helping hand out treats and see the kids in their costumes...and she started a game of mummy tag and Red Rover, Red Rover. What a fun grandma! Our little neighbor girl even sat on her lap for some surrogate grandma time...
Before we knew it, it was time to head in. Melanie mentioned they named their food for dinner crazy foolish halloween names so we quickly improvised and stole the idea for our own scary meal.
Cranberry juice = Dracula's blood
Lasagna = Bloody massacure
Carrots = fingers
Our astronaut and little Anna (from Frozen) were ready to go get some yummy treats. It wasn't too chilly while the sun was still up and we had fun seeing all of our neighbor friends while Grandma manned the house!
