On day 4, we got up and headed to "Dick's 5 & 10", their slogan is "If we don't have it, you don't need it". They have EVERYTHING! The kids saved their February and March allowance plus some leftover Christmas money to spend. They were very thoughtful on what they wanted and we spent a good 2 hours looking around. Scott and I even found some treasures, we all walked out with bags of things we "needed".
That afternoon we headed to Branson landing to check out Bass Pro Shop, the fire and light show, shop and have dinner at Cantina Laredo. It was a fun area to explore.
The next morning was our last there so we packed up the car and headed over to Krispie Kreme Doughnuts. Solon is fascinated lately with how things are made and you can watch them make doughnuts through windows. We all enjoyed watching the process and sampling some too.
After some doughnuts, we headed home to play a bit outside and run off some energy before the long car trip home. We played a few rounds of shuffleboard (cough, cough, I beat Scott!).
And "swam" in the pool. I sure wish it had been warmer and filled because it had a kiddie pool and a fun splash pad for the kids. They had fun pretending though and playing on the playground adjacent to the pool.
...and they really like to sunbathe apparently :).
We headed home after lunch and made it home in time for bedtime. It was nice to see Scott's brother and sister-in-law. We hope to see them again this summer when we all go to Cedar Falls for a weekend.
And a quick photo before we departed!
