Florida: Day 2...

Thursday, December 19, 2013
So as beautiful as day 1 was (80 degrees and sunny), day 2 was about the opposite.  We knew we were in for it with a huge winter storm blowing through the south.  The high was about 60 degrees and we had 30-40 mph winds...and mix that with sand and we got a nice microderm-abrasion.  We attempted to collect some shells and play on a little playset on the beach before giving up and shopping on Flagler Ave (New Smyrna's main street) and then hitting our favorite beach side lunch spot - Breakers!

Where we stayed...top floor (left if you are looking at it)
Grandma and the kids...
Solon loved it - he could have cared less about the weather.  The only problem was the surf was really rough and pushing up a ton of seaweed and jelly fish...

And this was about the time our lungs had had enough sand and we decided to do some retail therapy :).
Lunch was delicious as always...
We did swim in the heated pool before the kids took a nap, Scott watched football and mom and I did a bit more shopping.  Mom let us go on a date that night which was great.  We got home to meet my grandparents who arrived late that night!
