MN Lake Vacation 2013...

We were ready to hit the road for a 10 day vacation!  10 days of uninterrupted daddy/Scott time, we were excited.  We headed off to one of our favorite places on earth - the lake!  The tradition of 4th of July on the lake started when I was in 5th grade and I have only missed one (the year we got married - and there were MANY tears!).  My cousins Alex and Casen (who are like my brothers - my kids call them uncle), my Aunt Chris, my parents and my sister were all there and my dad's parents were there for a little bit of it.  We packed in A LOT in 4 FULL days and 5 nights.

First up Solon needed to help tend to the tubes and ropes with grandpa...he is grandpa's little helper.  In Solon's words, "Grandpa is SO funny!"

Vera (and Solon) loved the water table on the beach and they spent some serious time there with grandma doing all sorts of fun things...
Of course there was some dock jumping...they are so brave!
And we all slalom skied.  I even reached my goal of skiing all the way across the lake...
It was hot so we would jump in and swim between people.  Solon jumped in by himself and swam back to the ladder (hit repeat a bazillion times).  He is such a confident little swimmer - so proud of him!
Auntie Ellen and Vera are pretty much connected the entire time.  Vera adores her Auntie!  She love catching a free lap from Auntie or Grandma and would be known to fall asleep on the boat.  She even jumped in a time or two with help.
Scott continued to refine his wake boarding skillz, yo!
We, of course, did some tubing and Vera got her first "real" tube ride...which means we went the normal speed as opposed to being just drug behind the boat.  She survived and then when she got off we got a much more bumpy ride because a certain 3 year old loves to nearly get bounced off...

Every afternoon we spent time floating and relaxing while the kids napped....we got this new party tube and all enjoyed chilling together...
I think Solon said his favorite was jet skiing.  The last day he took a turn with everyone he could.  He especially loved grandpa's crazy ride!
Are you sensing we did EVERYTHING the lake has to offer...well you are right!  We even fit in some hot tubbing despite the heat...but it felt good on our tired limbs from all the skiing and tubing we did.  Did I mention I got flipped off the tube a few times....
Solon LOVES the hot tub and there is even a special "Solon perch" so he can join us without getting too hot!
Every morning we had some sort of fireside meal - eggs over the fire, pancakes and sausage and Uncle Alex is an excellent chef!

And every night we enjoyed the beautiful God-made sunset...the picture below is of our boat out cruising...this picture doesn't do the immense beauty justice.  #ILOVELAKELIVING
And of course no trip would be complete without getting gas at the local marina and ice cream...

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for all the amazing fun we had...we tried everything there was and loved it all!  Thanks for spoiling us and having so much fun with us...we can't wait to come back for another round in August!
