Minnesota Children's Museum Trip...

Friday, June 1, 2012
Recently, the kiddos and I were chauffeured by my mom to Minneapolis a few days early for the Memorial Day weekend.  We have always wanted to hit up the Children's museum and Minnesota Zoo.  Since my sister is interning at the children's museum this summer 2 days a week and living at home, she could hang out with us too...perfect!

We LOVED the children's museum and didn't make it to all the exhibits in the morning we were there...so much to see and do for every age level, we highly recommend it.  A tip we found out about while we were there is that they don't allow groups on Tuesday's.  We were there on a Thursday in May and it was kind of chaos with field trips until about 11, when they started heading out for lunch.  From about 11:30 until we left at 1pm, it was much better and Solon could really do whatever he wanted in the exhibits!

The Nature Exhibit...Solon and his opossum friend exploring the tunnels...
...We found a really cute turtle friend...
Grandma and Solon in the Minnesota Seasons exhibit (open only to under 4 years old - which was AWESOME!)
Vera enjoyed the lily pads and "lake"
Solon enjoyed the conveyor belts and loading the cargo...
...Water works....what fun...
...Shaking our groove thing...
...delivering the mail in the little communities complete with a doctor's office, restaurant, grocery store, art gallery, bus, and club (I think it was supposed to be a news studio but it was more of a rave/clubbin' type feel :)!

It was a great day, we all had such fun...we grabbed Subway and ate in the car on the way home.  For those of you who don't know, Solon PREFERS Subway over McDonald's any day of the week....funny but true!  The kid loves the spicy Italian...and lucky for me, he shares!
