Erin's 1st Day on Friday

Well tomorrow is my first day back at work after about 6 months off!  12 weeks before Solon and 12 weeks after Solon's birth.  Time sure has flown.  Today was so bittersweet...Solon let me snuggle him for the majority of the day and I would break down in tears occasionally as he would smile or do something adorable that I will miss tomorrow :-(!  He will be in great care and have so much fun watching all the other kids...and it is only one day until the weekend.  I am so thankful for the many emails, phone calls of friends and family with well wishes and prayers.  I know God has a plan for me for this year and even though it may be hard he has this life planned out and I need to trust in Him!  I recieved this little "Ode to Erin" in my inbox and had to share - I have the greatest colleagues in the world who are hosting a soup luncheon for me tomorrow - I am so thankful to each and everyone of them!!!  We will let you know how it all goes...

Once there was an educator

Of a happy, collegial sort
Returning from maternity leave
A coach called Erin Port.

In the face of educational challenge
Erin never flinches
We’re glad to have her back
With us in the trenches.

On Friday we’ll honor Erin
With a grand lunchtime feast
Hoping she’ll forgive us, just in case
We have royally messed up Southeast.

We will do what we can to help
To have all the answers, no one claims
But we will support all we can
As at Southeast, she takes over the reins.

So welcome back Erin, shout out loud,
“I am a coach!” with pride.
Each day of challenges, of success,
Take it all in stride.

Dianne worked very hard
To keep us all on track.
We’re very excited now
To get to have Erin back.
