Solon is now 5 days old (yes I cried already about how fast he is growing). It has been a joy to have my mom with us helping us out - boy has she been helpful. Being a grandma definitely agrees with her and it is a joy to watch how much she loves and dotes on Solon. Each time she has gone out to get something she comes home with something Solon "just had to have".
Solon went for his weight check yesterday and had not gained back any weight that he lost from birth. When he was born he weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. and left the hospital at 6 lbs. 5 oz. We go in tomorrow to see if he gained any weight. He has really got the hang of it as evidenced by our late night feeding frenzy - 11 pm, 1 am, 2 am, 3 am, 5:30 am - yep I was exhausted but still so happy because he is just so stinking CUTE!
Today he had tummy time and turned his head from one side to the other - so good for him! We are also starting to tell between his cries, his feeding cry, burp cry, and I am pooping grimace (and it sounds like an adult fart and is not like roses). That is about all he does - but he is starting to be more alert and loves to be sung to by his grandma. I am still learning a variety of songs - and making up lyrics to ones I don't know all the words too. "Momma's gonna buy you a mocking bird and when that mocking bird don't sing, momma's gonna buy you a diamond ring, and when the diamond ring don't shine, momma's gonna buy you a fishing line or spine or wind turbine...????"
